Radio In Top Console?

Recommended Posts

Just signed up and what a geat forum this is. Been members on others with other cars but this to be the best. :D

I get my IS200 Sport on Tuesday and cant wait. Hope weather is good then.

So my first question is is it possible to replace the top console, where the sat/nav normal fits and replace it with a housing etc than can accomodate a single DIN radio.

I'm thinking of taking the stock radio out, replace with a double DIN facia plate and put a double DIN SAT/NAV unit like the Kenwood DVD Navigation Package NV-DX7532.

Then put a radio/mps unit in the top console.

Any comments / sugestions please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

welcome to the club,,

i assume you have not got the oem nav system.

what some people do is they get hold of an oem motorised nav housing, and replace the screen with there one. these pop up on eBay everynow and then and go for around 400 quid.

yes you can replace the oem headunit, and toyota do a couple of double din fascia.

have you thought about how you will integrate your new system into the stock amp.

Thanks Fargo,

Im thinking of changing all including the external AMP. Just getting my way around this forrum and perhaps I should have posted this thread in the electronics section. Sorry.

I have no OEM Sat.NAV and was thinking to put this where the stock OEM FU sits, but maybe I should consider your idea.
