Sc430 Wind Break

Hi folks, I recently changed my SC430 for a Mercedes SL and regret it. I am now considering buying another new SC, the only thing making me hesitate is the performance of the glass windbreak on the SC is so poor when compared to the SL. I seem to remember reading somewhere of a firm that makes the mesh windbreaks for after market sale if you know where I may get a windbreak for an SC please let me know as I would much prefer to rejoin the Lexus clan to Merc.

Thanks

Michael

MichaelB & Aquanuke,

check out the german LOC page. We had a long discussion about Windbreaks (Windschott) there. Meanwhile Lexus Germany offers one as a an option. I have my one now for 37500 mls - perfect.

I suggest to sent an email to Lexus UK, tell them about the availlability in Germany ( I believe also CH & A) and let them figure it out. The mail contact on the Lexus pages normaly results in a call back from my dealer with a good acceptable answer. Its always different if a customer asks or a dealer :))

PS: I havn t figured out how to post pictures here. See them on the german LOC page.

Aquanuke,

Right, this is my Windbreak.

Actually I posted 4 different pictures on the LOC german forum. You can find them now there in the gallery section. I made this picture because the forum discussion was also about accessibility of the backseat (shopping basket as my wife calls it) once the windbreak is installed. As you can see its pretty easy to lift the part which normally covers the backseats and the luggage. To remove the whole windbreak takes about 45 seconds. And as I mentioned before its an orginal Lexus supplied part.

There is only one little downside. Pending your seat position the upper frame might be partionaly in your back mirror view. But how often do we look back? :winky:

Regards,

Lex-Golf

PS I still didn't figure out how to add images in the UK forum. I miss the add images button of the other countries forum.

Hi

Thank you for the picture of your SC I have just found it as last year I bought a Porsche C2 S but have now decided to go back to a SC and the wind deflector on your car looks great so I will try to find one.

Thanks Again

Michael
