Anyone in here running 8.5" wide rims on their LS400? If so, what offset are they? I want to be sure to step up from the stock 7" width at ET35, without have inner arch/suspension fouling problems.

I've seen some I like, but in offset ET30, which would mean that the wheel would protrude an extra inch (almost) inwards (Half the extra rim width of 1.5"/37.5mm is 18.75mm, plus the 5mm lost in reducing the ET offset equals 23.75mm, pretty much an inch!)

Any advise appreciated

a 30mm offset will be 5mm further sticking out than a 35mm offset

so in theory the extra protrusion inwards would be only 13.75mm

higher offsets - towards the car

lower offsets - away from the car

Duh, and once again, duh!

Of course, reducing the ET brings the mounting face further towards the middle of wheel, in turn bringing the whole wheel further away from the hub.

Dont listen to me!

Thanx man!
