Fitting Snooper Sr6-neo To Is200

Recommended Posts

Does anyone here know how to fit a Snooper SR6 Neo to an IS200? There's the laser and radar detector that goes at the front grille and the wire that runs from the it to the dashboard. I did this once for my old car, but not sure where in the Lexus the detector would fit, or where to run the wire from the engine bay to the dashboard. Help.!!!

I fitted the RLD100 behind the front grill, just last week. Running the wire was easy, as the cable extender wasn't needed and fit perfect to the centre of the dash, where my unit is kept.

I didn't take pics, but the fitting was using the supplied bracket, to the centre point behind the grill. I removed the left horn to make it easy to drill a hole into that metal (it's really tough metal, you'll need a strong drill bit). Then i mounted the bracket to that, using the supplied nut and bolt.

The wiring was along the route of the bonnet cable, and i pierced through the grommit that carries the rest of the loom. Poke a hanger through the grommit, tape the end of the RLD100 cable to the end, and pull it back through.

You'll need to remove the A post trim and feed it up through the hole and along the dash.

I know my explanation is rubbish, but i think you get the idea. I'll take some pics, and get them online, if it helps.

most radar / lasers are aimed nearer the number plate. The windscreen doesn't provide a good surface for the beam to bounce off when trying to take readings. refer to post > http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...ndpost&p=227231

Mine is mounted probably as close as you could get to the number plate... behind the lower part of the grill.

I'm not saying the winscreen is terrible... its just better at the number plate area. :)
