Is This Car Way Overpriced?

Recommended Posts

1998 S reg LS400 with approx. 70k is retailing for £11,995 at a local independent dealer.

According to Parkers, £8,700 is the price for buying from an independent dealer.

Especially given recent petrol price rises, is this dealer having a laugh?

I was gonna take a look at the car, and if it checks out ok, I'll walk in with an offer of £8, and see if he budges. Or perhaps I should wait until it's been sitting on his forecourt for 6 weeks, and then make an offer?

Ideas?

 Well, if I could find a Ser 4 for £8700......with that mileage, I might shed my ser 3, ser 4 having Sat nav, plus (important) Traction control!!

"Worth" is a relative term. After all, if you'd spent £50K on it in '98, you'd have lost £41K in 7 years! That's £6K per year!

Hi my name is Allynne, i have just joined the register and just purchased my first Lexus, its a LS400 1996 black with 186000 miles on the clock and its like a brand new car, i had the oil changed this week and whilst standing underneath with the engine running you could not hear the engine at all. The only problem i have is a cracked headlight lens. i paid 3800 for this car and its brilliant.
