Hifi was never easy! Hi,Steve. Just about to look at an SC in Weston,(unless the squad warns me off!) It’s about time? One last Lex to fade into the distance in? Back to reading these pages.

Sadly the time has come sell my lovely SC430 and my R450h
……..and…..did the cars sell? Not being facetious (?) but it’ll be one less thing to occupy the mind. I’m guessing that the average age on the Sc 430 club is higher than many I’m 79!.

Lexus SC430 (2002) for sale - Silver - 69,588 miles
Probably waaaaaay too late, though Durham might dissuade a few……did you sell your SC430? The Durham bit doesn’t frighten me ( except the train fare!) as I lived for 6 years in Newcastle and my parents spent a few years in Sunderland. Let me know? Thanks, Chris Had 2 LSs and would love to get back .

Japanese version of the 600
Looking in A-trader ,I spied a nice looking LS 600 that had been chauffeur driven to school each day (backed up by the satnav record!,) with rather nice fabric covering on the seats, rather than leather. At £8999 with ____65K? Miles, in South Molton, which is not too far from me, at 3 a.m. plus great description of careful ownership, I was planning to ring in daylight hours, BUT….IT was gone! With no phone number, I was stymied. Just the fabric seats. alone intrigued me, let alone the care of ownership outlined in the description. If it’s you, in Devon, call me. I’d love it. Lesson learned? Don’t wait…….act.! Some lucky punter out there has a good one!

TPMS light after 4 tyres replaced
Being an elderly driver,I have no time for such nonsense, and pricy nonsense at that. Seems like a costly ‘solution’ to a non-existent problem. Do tyres really lose pressure enough to need a sensor?

Cheap ls600
Chris Skelton replied to Chasdad's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h ClubCan the Air shocks be changed to ‘ordinary’ springs/shocks? And,if this hasn’t already been suggested - try breakers for a seat? Even a non heated seat would do,surely.

LS460 - wheel alignment recommendations?
Chris Skelton replied to donkmeister's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h ClubYes,there IS a place that PROPERLY sets up -not only the wheels -but the whole car. BUT I can’t immediately recall the name. Ithink it was in St Albans…….. if it springs to mind, I’ll be back. There are a few proper places but a lot of duffers.

My dream LS (if it existed!)
Chris Skelton replied to BMCWP's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h ClubThat was Series 1, the post 85 Series 2 were much better. The one pictured has some serious. Upgrades, including ignition and ventilation. Featured in “Retro-rides’. I sold mine 10ish years ago, regret it. Rare Auto-turbo (they never made a turbo auto….)

Au Revoir. Or maybe Sayonara is more apt?
Chris Skelton replied to Chris Skelton's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h ClubI had the timing belt changed too! They still owe me……. I doubt whether they’ve done anything, but have no knowledge. it WAS lovely ‘above the waterline’ maybe a generous splashing of Lanoguard all over would fix? Back to LS series 4 for me; a bit bigger than I’d anticipated, but hopefully smooth and comfortable-and trouble free? Coming this w/end,hopefully. see Dutchie comment above!

Au Revoir. Or maybe Sayonara is more apt?
Chris Skelton replied to Chris Skelton's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h ClubWell,it turned out that the Camry wasn’t as good as it appeared! After my local mechanic came out from under it asking’. ‘’Did you buy this from a dealer? You know you can take it back within 30 days?’’ it’s crusty!! so I did. it’s a puzzle just how it went through several MOTs with NO mention of corrosion! The rest of the car (above the ‘waterline’) was in great condition. currently considering a Honda CR-Z.>…..maybe a hybrid Lex for ‘best’.

Is Amayama getting expensive?
Useful info here - thanks. Having just acquired a 98 Camry I’m sure I’ll need to locate parts at some point and info here helps.

Au Revoir. Or maybe Sayonara is more apt?
Chris Skelton replied to Chris Skelton's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h ClubBoth! Had had Messi’s LS400 hovering in my brain though, but thought I’d go for a slightly (!) smaller car. Has a road-induced rattle I need to investigate, but otherwise, lovely. I expect to have to do bushes etc., but the overall condition is great. it WAS a bit of serendipity; I wondered if I’d find a Camry in UK, looked on Autotrader and …..got instantly in touch, staking my claim, so to speak .

Chris Skelton replied to Chris Skelton's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h Clubif you have 20 minutes...... now venturing into #your business is important/we are experiencing busy......i.e looking for insurance!

Au Revoir. Or maybe Sayonara is more apt?
Just taken possession of an immaculate 3 litre Camry, 1998, so my thoughts of coming back to another LS 400 are void- hope I’m not tempting fare here. 69K miles, amazing paint ceramic coating -apparently - plus (messi rated?) Lano sealed underneath. All I have to do is get reacquainted with the size again! It purrs, said deliverer! I’ll still be popping up on here, I’m sure. Steve2000 has a link to a YouTube vid (as I’m too Luddite to know how to post it now.)

Broken TPMS sensor in tyre
Chris Skelton replied to Ro.C's topic in Lexus GS 300 / Lexus GS 250 / Lexus GS 430 / Lexus GS 450h / Lexus GS 460 ClubDo you ‘have to’ have them, legally,or is it that they’re interconnected to the computer in the car,to driving detriment?

LS400 - return of the boot seal leak
Chris Skelton replied to a post in a topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h ClubI recently saw a car advertised…was it a Lexus?…where the seller had had the sunroof sealed. As my partner isn’t a fan of ‘wind in her hair’, this would suit me. Anyone share this approach? Would seem to solve one source of water.

Broken TPMS sensor in tyre
Chris Skelton replied to Ro.C's topic in Lexus GS 300 / Lexus GS 250 / Lexus GS 430 / Lexus GS 450h / Lexus GS 460 ClubSomething to be said for the KISS approach? Seems like overkill, to have to have £300 worth (‘worth’?) of gizmos just to tell you tyres -which are meant to stay inflated, need attention. Surely easier to check manually every so often?
