C/l Receiver Unit..where And How To Install?

Hello there

My remote central locking has not been working for some times. The dealer told me that the receiver is 'dead' and I need a new one. It will cost me around £400 including labour, which it very steep and expensive for me.

Recently, I get hold a used receiver from a breaking lexus. Does anybody know where does this unit located in the car? And can I install the new one myself and then re-programming the keys using the procedures available in this site?

btw, it's a 99 auto car.

erm the reciever is under the rearshelf...its a small black box, sits middle between the 2 speakers......

the actual control box for the alarm is...........pm me for details
