Steering

Hi,

Recently purchased a 2002 GS300SE with 22,000 mile on the clock. However even on some straight roads the steering can seem to want to veer off course, and seems very light, even unstable, even at low speeds ( can also be felt by the passengers). Makes driving this vehicle very tense.

The car has been seviced by Lexus at 20,000 and they say they cannot find any problems. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello :D Welcome to LOC..... lots to read here matey..... Have a drive through 'Wheels and tyres'..... loads of relevant reading.... The Service and advice from Lexus don't read that as matter of fact and final..... as you will see even the dealers distract from the truth...if only through ignorance.

Check your tyre pressures, tyre wear, get your alignment checked, and also get your bushes all round double checked. Could have been driven hard by original owner.

try swapping the wheels 2 different corners,and check tyre presures.good luck

I JUST HAD THE SAME PROBLEM U ARE DESCRIBING , IT WAS MY RIGHT SIDE LOWER TIRE ROD END , A GUY DID IT FOR ME FOR $40 DOLLARS , TOYOTA ESTIMATED ME FOR $478 , NEVER MIND LEXUS, SHOP AROUND, GOOD LUCK!!!
