Needed Support On Radio Parts

I own a Lexus IS200, european Specs, but I live in the Dominican Republic.

Another problem is that the Lexus dealer here dosn't wants to deal with internal part of this radio.

The radio is OEM for Lexus IS200, VIN No. JTDBS182300018779 and has this specifications:

Toyota: 86120-53030

Fujitsu Ten: 122000-1050A101

Serial: A7000496

The problem is that the radio doesn't control the FM stations, for which the tecnitian refers to the FM tuner control.

FM Tuner frequency: UKW87.5 to 108.0 MHz.

Please help on how to obtain this needed part.

Do you have the same frequencies for FM radio there as Europe, could that be why the tuner won't work?

Jap spec. cars need a converter when they come to the UK to get the FM stations, the UK spec. cars are OK. It's to do with the stepping ( in frequency ) between the stations. As Mac says give us a few exemples of Dominican radio station FM frequecies so we can comment further.

They go @ from 88-108 Mhz.

I doubt that part would be available from Lexus, they'll replace the whole radio rather than open it for servicing.

Isn't there a 5-year warranty on the radio, or is this only if it comes up with ERR3 on the display?

There is a 5 year warranty period on the stereo I've just had mine replaced and my car is 4 years old.

Not sure if Lexus / Toyota have a dealership in the guys location (Caribbean) though.

No Lexus support here after 3 years....

Ask them to look up the letter called "tips for warranty completion", it carries the number "KD/2003/L/0004" and is dated 01.10.2003. This apparently lists the CD changer (I assume in the IS it's all part of the radio) as having a 5 year warranty.
