Is200 Rear Demister Fuse?

Recommended Posts

Hi -

I recently bought a 5 yo IS200 at auction and the rear demister doesn't seem to be working. There is a slight clicking sound from near the drivers side fuse panel when the demister is turned on/off.

I'm trying to find out what fuse relates to the rear demister? The fuse panel maps are in Japanese and I've searched the manual, this site and the web and can't seem to find an answer.

Any help appreciated.

Just thought I'd bump this to see if anyone had an answer. It wasn't bothering me over the summer but since it's getting cold again I'd like to fix this.

I've taken out and examined all the fuses in the driver side panel where the 'clicking' noise is coming from when the demister is switched on or off and all the fuses are fine. Does this 'clicking' happen when the demister is working? Any other thoughts on what I might check?

Thanks.

O .

Thanks for pointing that out.

The driver side fuse box, fuse #5 is labelled FR DEF "Windshield Defogger". I will double check but I was sure this fuse is ok.

Actually I think I will check the other side as well in case they got swapped around and this is a right/left hand drive mix up.

Hi

I have the same problem, the same click from the driver side fuse panel when turning on and off, I have not yet checked the fuses yet as I have been told that the same fuse demists the mirrors and my mirrors demist ok.

I have got tints and thought this might have something to do with why it does not work.

Regards,

Michael

If u take off your c pillars there are little boxes that are connected up to the demister strips, have a look at these maybe a loose connection or something

Hi IRLRs200

I took your advice and removed the R/N/S c pillar, (then started laughing) I would have loved it to have been a loose wire if there were any wires leading to the connector! all I could see was the connector on the rear screen with no wires leading to it and about a 10mm clear flixable plastic pipe (unsure what this is) any idea where I should start looking for the wires leading to the connector?

Regards,

Michael
