Laser & Radar Detector

Recommended Posts

Just been out and about and saw a very well priced laser and radar detector. :shifty:

it states that it detects on X, K, Ka bands & POP Laser detection also. there is both audio and visual warnings and its pretty stealth looking.

does anybody know if it'll work effectively on the UK streets?? i don't see why it wouldn't, unless we don't have the X, K, or Ka bands.

thought i'd ask you guys befor ei go buy it :D :D

Speed cameras work on K band in the UK as do automatic shop door openers and pedestrian crossing traffic sensors to name a couple of others.

What make is it?

K band?... i thought most countries (expect japan) have migrated to Ka band already.

BTW, vendors always say they support K/Ka/X/POP. But its one thing to "support" it .. and one thing to actually be "good" at detecting it.

That separates the 50$ ones and the 300$ ones.

From my experience, there are only 2 you should choose from ... others' are just not reliable enough to justify the cost (and dont give you the peace of mind ... which you are actually trying to get by buying one of these):

-Passport Escort 8500 x50

-valentineOne (or v1)

thanks for the input guys. i can't remember the make as i didn't have a pen to write it down at the time and my memory's like a sieve :blush:

it did 'look' very good, and by all accounts they are evry popular. the great thing with the US is that you can buy anything and if you don't like it or it don't work how u thought it would.....just take it back :shifty:

i think i'll probably get it and see how i fare......if its useless, it'll be coming back with me over the summer for my refund :D

K or Ka? I have a Snooper S5 Neo and it all comes up as K band on the detector.

Best is GPS based system, I have camera sites set up on my Tom Tom, it warns when you get near.

As for laser, don't bother it only goes off after you've been done.

Like I have said before best to keep your eyes open there are lots of systems that your detector won't work on like SPECS, VASCAR etc.
