Baby Seat Advice

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Gonna b in the market for a new baby seat over christmas, first timer so looking for advice on a good one. I'm looking for one that you can use right from baby up to small child. some that i've seen have a carry cot thing that lets you unclip the whole thing and attach it to a buggy or just carry it which is what i'm thinking of. I'd also be looking at moving it between a new model audi A3 and an is220. As none of my friends are in this position yet I have no good advice bar theunobjective "shop assistants". if anyone has experience of a good one I'd appreciate the advice as there are soooo many out there.

Thanks

Brendan

I am in the same boat

We have decided to go for the "Britax First Class Si" As that can take newborn. We already have one of those carry chairs but when i fitted it it seemed pants and awkward. So we opted for a 0-5 years Britax seat and we will transfer the baby to the carry chair. Afterall its not long before the baby can go into a stroller. Maybe 6 months later.

Spendng £130 on a travel system that lasts 9 months seemed daft to one that lasts 5 years and seems a safer system which we thought was a wiser way to go.

Don't go for second hand ones, as you don't know if they have been in a crash.

I have a britax one for the older one, it is forward facing, and wouldn't take a newborn.

The one i bought for the newborn was this....

It has a 'docking station' so it is realy easy to take the seat in and out. It also connected to the pushchair.

Then when she was 9 months old, i bought one of these.....

She is now 3 years and still fitting in it no problem.

Remember, you cannot cut corners when it comes to saftey for the little un.

Good luck in the hunt.

Make sure you try out the seat to make sure it fits your car before purchasing.
