Engine Cutting Out

I know this isn't a brakes and suspension problem but i oculdn't find a topic under 'engine cutting out'!

My 1996 LS 400 is cutting out when coming to a stop, only on long journeys. It seems to be only happening after travelling a long distance on the motorway, the first time it happened I slowed down approaching a roundabout on the motorway and it cut out. It seems to only happen after the engine has been running for a while and then I slow down and the power cuts. It never happens on short hourneys or around town. Any ideas ?

Thanks Stano.

Hi there,

Sounds like your problem is the same as this one here on an earlier thread.

Perphaps it time to have the throttle body cleaned out and re-set the ECU afterwards to clear any fault codes. Also if you take the throttle body off you might need to replave the gasket which does in between the TB and the inlet manifold.
