Seat Belt..........

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

the front passenger seat belt on my IS has decided to break itself. the locking mechanism part of it appears to have something jammed in it so the belt clip doesnt go in fully and lock. i've tried to have a look down it but i cant see anything that could've dropped into it. also when someone sits in the seat the seat belt light doesnt flash on the dashboard.

i'm quite confident that no one has tried to stick something down it.

has anyone ever had this kinda problem before?

any ideas on what it would cost me to have that part replaced?

sorry if i've been unclear, the picture below shows the part that i'm talking about

this happened to me last week- i just stuck a key inside it and wiggled it around until i worked the blockage loose- turns out it was a little piece of glass from when some vandal smashed my window a few days before , if that doesnt work from the looks of it its just one bolt holding the locking part in place ;), might be worth taking it out n actually turning it upside down...of course if the light has stopped working it might be a broken mechanism.
