Headlamp Deflection For Europe

My Lexus dealership have just kindly provided me with Lucas headlamp deflectors for my Mk 1 RX300. They need to be cut to match the shape of the lens/prism on the headlight. Now the covers on my RX are clear, there are no prism shapes to follow.

On previous cars I have always used insulating tape as the shape has been easy to work out. The minor problem with this is that the adhesive on the tape becomes baked on and I've had to use thinners on the glass to remove it.

I have seen a number of Lexus models with a crazing or cloudy section on the headlights, looks to me that something like a deflector has been fitted then removed. Is there something that is safe to clean them with?

How do I avoid annoying the Frogs and look after my headlights at the same time? Many thanks for any info.

Just annoy the frogs. They have been annoying us for years.

I have NEVER seen a Foriegn car over here in the UK with deflectors fitted.

Yeah. I just might do that. The reason the frogs and the rest don't fit deflectors is that left hand drive cars have headlights that dip straight ahead rather than to their nearside. Ours which dip to our nearside dip into oncoming traffic when abroad.
