Mot Failed

hi

my mot just failed and was told that the one brake on the front was imbalanced and was low by 100 kilos

the brakes and discs are fine

i took it to my mechanic and he has told me that the brake mask need to be changed which cost about £250.00

has anyone hand this problem ?

Doesn't sound like correct information to me,

I'd suggest you get a second opinion mate

even a free check at Kwik Fit will give you

the right info. You don't need to get Kwik Fit

to fix anything just tell them its pulling and

can they check it.

i think you need a special weight to get them off...

a long weight....

a second opinion here is a must mate, i can smell the fishyness from here

maybe you mean master cylinder? I am guessing the balance is out and therefore the master/slave cylinder is knackered?

I dont think a fault in the master cylinder would only give a problem with one front brake.

I would check the callipers first before anything else.
