After nearly 2 years since I bought the car I have finally repaired the missing sound on the drivers side front ( R/F speaker)

It started as intermittant audio but then went completely, you could if you turned the volume up just hear sound.

After searching everywhere with no luck it was time for a full scale assult.

Mine has the DSP system and in the amplifier mounted above the CD changer there is another board below the amp PCB, this does all the digital signal processing, lots of dismantling and unsoldering later I have the board out, tracing the signal path with no diagram or a safety net I finally came across a capacitor (10 uF 16V) leaking on the board, replaced and reassemble to test and SOUND!!!!

Here are some pictures.

Hi,

Not easy for a novice but I am an electronics engineer by trade and with experience you can see leaking electrolyte on the pcb and it aslo has a distinct smell especially when heated up with a soldering iron during removal of the defective component.

The board is inside it's own metal case with earth tags all around that have to be desoldered for the case to be removed and all the components are SMD ( surface mount devices) so no legs on the parts fitted to the board.

Sort of lashed it all back together to test making sure nothing shorted out before fully reassemblimg it.

As I said before not easy to do and sorry before anyone asks I don't want to see anymore thankyou
