Laser/radar Detector ?

Just after all your thoughts/experiences with Laser/Radar detection gear. I have a Garmin sat nav unit that has the speed camera service installed. As this is a database that you download it is good for the location of known speed cameras and areas that are prefered for the use of mobile camera sites.

I was thinking of investing in some kind of Radar detection unit to cover the speed gun and car mounted speed camera units. I have seen the following Radar detector and was just wanting your comments/views on the whole subject ?

Cheers

Road Angel have a new one coming out soon that doesn't need updating on-line through a PC...it updates on the move through a 'sim' card similar to a mobile phone. I've registered my interest to keep track of the release date and info as it is released. Don't know prices.

My wife still uses the original Road Angel Classic and we have a life time subscription for the updates. It still works really well, including the laser detector front and rear, although you'd be pretty lucky to pick up a signal not aimed directly at you as if it is then you're done anyway :crybaby:

i have the road angel classic , in four years the rader detector thing has never gone of , tested it with gararge door opener so now it works . the fixed camera part of it is exellent but the other bit is not worth having ,and as said above even if they do zap you it will be to late .
