Lexus Specialist - Review

Recommended Posts

Hello all, happy new year.

Well, over the break I decided I had dragged my service schedule out long enough and due to age of car etc, decided that I would try a Lexus Specialist rather than main dealer.

I used Albin B Motors (ABM) in Beckenham (SE London) after visiting them in the summer and having a chat and being impressed.

Kevin Barnett was extremely nice and helpful and did an excellent job. Non pushy and carried out a very decent job on car - gave GOLD discount and even washed the car.

I knew the brakes were very very low, and low and behold they were, and after discussion with Kevin (as I was going to do them myself - in the cold/rain!), he did a brilliant price to change them and the fluid, and I must admit, I have NEVER EVER had such a decent firm brake pedal since owning the car - and thats after Lexus had looked at it many times in the past.

The caliper guide pins were all seized on the front and one rear, and they freed all this up a treat.

So, after many years of using Lexus Reading (thank you for a great past), I think I have finally found somewhere better, so will be definately using them in the future.

All the guys there came from lexus Bromley too, so they know the cars etc, and they all have a share in the business, so no dodgy mechanics trying to up their wages!!

So, finally, a big thank you to Kevin and his team. See you in March/April time with my wifes car, and my dad will take his GS300 to you too in the summer.

Anyone who lives in London area, I can definately recommend these people, hopefully they will go from strength to strength as people especially with the older cars realise that there is no real difference between a Lexus dealer stamp in the book and a Lexus specialists - and you get a saving in the pocket!

Ola. My parent life in Beckenham, so it made it easy to take it there.

But to be honest, its only an hour and a half away, and I wanted somewhere where I had peace of mind, that they would do a good job and not rip my arm off.

Its one of those business types where you get a lot of bad and not much good unfortunately. Lexus Reading were good, but my car is in cambelt change era so I came to the decision that its not worth using Lexus any more as my car is old enough that it won;t make any difference now.

As they are from a Lexus dealer, they know the cars as well as Lexus do, so why not?!
