Strange Sound On Tickover

When the engine is running on tickover i can hear noise from under the engine. It sounds like an old disi cap thats on its way out. When the engine is revved up the noise stops. Is there something that needs changing or is it just the norm?

no probs - its true u only hear it on idle and it more noticable in built up areas/garages etc absolutly nothing to worry about - for the engine bay have a look at the top of the water pump for red deposits - this is leaking coolant, it may be that u dont need to change the pump as quite often the leak seals itself again - clean off any deposits and monitor it for a week.

Thanks Rob. Will check it out. Been told my rubbers for the engine mounts are gone due to excessive pounding from the previous owner. Think he wanted to be in Fast and the furious. Hopefully all will be good by next week.
