Strange Tunnels Under Liverpool.

If you watch the 'One Show" on Monday, you'll see a piece on the Williamson's tunnels in Liverpool (where, coincidentally,I'll be...the tunnels...over the weekend!)

These are miles of wonderful tunnels, all brick and carved stone-lined, which were built in the early 1800s, for NO Reason!! Other than to give work to men returned from Crimea war, it seems, by Williamson, a rich merchant (Tate and Lyle!). They are really fascinating to visit. Some are HUGE!! Should be one of Britains treasures (and ARE) but not too well known. Try the Williamsontunnels web site for DVD tour etc.

I'm off to be a small part of the "City of Culcher" year...it's my "home town".
