Just a quick question, does ASTRAL BLACK 202 need a lacquer or clearcoat spray? I am looking to get my body kit sprayed. Also I heard that Halfraud's paint mixing is not a good match, is this true, and if so where would I buy a better colour match?

paint code 202 is the simplest paint to math ever, its pure black!!

Not true.....you'd be surprised how many shades of black there are.

I asked a sprayer the very same question and he said that since 2000 when mine was made, as i assumed it was a solid colour that paint technology has moved on a bit and all paint has a clearcoat over/in it. We need someone who is on here that knows about painting/spraying to clear this up.

My 2000 Astral Black, I thought, didn't have a lacquer. But a non-lexus body shop says it does. The tiny can of touch up paint that comes with the car doesn't come with a lacquer, but you wouldn't really expect it to.
