Mot's Are They Are They Getting Easier?

Just taken my LS for it's MOT and I knew it would fail as the O/S track rod end rubber boot was split and leaking but I wanted to get them to check for anything else on the front end so I could do it at the same time in case I missed anything..

So he put the car over the pit and checked all the usual stuff wipers, lights, horn, seat belts and for the first time ever the petrol cap to see if it's got a good seal, then jacked the back up checked the tyres exhaust etc, then drove the car forward so the front wheels were on the swivel plates and then pressed a button in the pit, then all of a sudden the wheels started shaking, turning, jumping on the front and rear like a low rider on hydraulic suspension to check the tolerances and movement on the front and rear suspension (never seen this before),so I thought OH :tsktsk: me, there is no chance I'll get away with anything on the suspension I'll need to start replacing bushes, ball joints etc,so all the info goes directly to the computer and even the bloke wont know if it's passed until the computer tells him if it's passed.

Well bugger me it passed, but I know it shouldn't of done as the track rod ends needed replacing,so it just shows what happens if you take the inspecting out of the testers hands and leave it to the computer.
