Is200 Models

As said in a previous post, im looking at buying a is200. could someone please just answer a few questions for me??

1. Is the IS200 S and the IS200 Sport the same model or are they different models?

2. Ive heard that the IS200 Sport has the supercharged engine. is this correct?

3. Is there any performance difference in any of the models other than the model with the SC engine?

1. They're different models mate - the S is the base model and then the Sport was the top end model offered over here.

2. That's not right mate, no IS200 type have the supercharged engine by default - Lexus commissioned something like 50 years ago and they were the only ones ever sold with one from the dealer as a special, but not all Sport models have the supercharger kit.

3. The SC is an aftermarket addon by TTE (apart from those 50 special edition cars I mentioned above) - apart from that they're all identical engine wise. The sport had slightly lower suspension and a limited slip diff as well though but they're mechanical differences :)

Slightly different if you look at the Altezzas though, as they had two models - the AS200 which is the same engine as the IS200 and then the RS200 which was a 4 cylinder 3S-GE engine with over 200bhp as standard :)

ok that clears things up nicely. going to do my best to look for a sport. Doubt i will get one though lol. probably end up with a SE

Am i right in thinking the is200 is about 150bhp ish?

Yeah that's it pal, 153bhp and 144lb/ft :)

Not sure what year you're after but there was the LE which had everything and the later IS also had all the trim like full leather etc.

Got a 3k budget so will be looking between v reg and 51 reg (if im lucky). Will be putting a full leather interior in it once ive got it!

Yeah a good idea i looked at alsorts of IS200s when i was looking for one and the later ones with full leather are the ones to go for but with a 3k budget you should be able to get your self a fairly good one which you can mod with the later stuff

Yeah ideally i would like about 5k but theres no chance of me getting that together. Its crap being on a trainees wage lol.
