Rs200 Airbox Connector

Hello, Where the wiring harness connects to the MAF there is a brown 2 pin connector about 10cm down the same cable... on my newly purchased car it is disconnected. Does anyone know what it's used for?? It has an aftermarket air filter. Nathan
