    Trd Clocks

its not, just needs some faffing about. theres still one set of the TRD clocks on Yahoo Japan I bought a set for my car for 350 quid about 6 months ago... fraudster he never sent them :(
  2. The 280T is a very mildly tuned but expensive altezza. There are plenty of MR2's with 500 wheel (not crank) horse around... thats with the same block and crank but with an inferior head... how much headroom do you want lol Those MR2's with 500 BHP are the turbo ones they have 3S GTE unit a different engine to the TOMs 280.. It's the same block though! With aftermarket rods and pistons the beams 3SGE has as much potential turbocharged as any of the 3S's. You can use aftermarket forged rods from the GTE but you need really dished pistons to get the compression ratio down. They didn't make a GTE equivalent of the beams GE but if you compare all the generations of GE and GTE the internal differences is always pistons, rods, injectors and cams.
  3. Hi if anyone has a standard airbox from a manual I am after one msg me!

  5. Check all your wheel sensors are ok... they need to be flush into the little holes or there will be problems. The error codes your getting are all 4 of the wheel sensors which is impossible unless you have disconnected them and driven the car. This link will tell you all you need to know: http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47053 Note it will not reset itself you need to pump the brakes: "To clear fault codes, leave the jumper in place between terminals Tc and E1 with the key on, then pump the brake pedal eight or more times in three seconds or less. When codes are erased, the ABS light should flash two times per second." Nathan
  6. I asked him if for a price for the drivers floor mat and he only wants to sell them as a set and won't give me a price and it going to put it on ebay... ffs.
  7. Build the 3SGE up... forged rods and lower comp pistons, 800cc injectors, upgraded fuel pump, ECU and a GT30 should get your 400+ wheel HP and not ruin the balance of the car.... which would be a shame considering how much you have spent on handling mods! There is loads of info on built 3S's on the MR2 forum www.mr2oc.com. By the way if you ever have an accident and decide to part it out let me know hahhaa! Nathan P.S. my car was already white when I bought it... white is by far the toughest colour for altezza's thats for sure!
  8. FYI they are the same coil packs that are in the 1G-FE 6 cylinder found in the IS200. If you ever want to check this out goto this site and add the altezza and the european IS200 as my cars then you can switch between them from the pull down and compart part numbers. http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/
  9. Hello, Has anyone found a place that sells IS200 keys without the remote or transponder??? I have an aftermarket remote and immobiliser with the oem stuff removed and disabled. I'm looking for just a plain IS200 key without the electronics. There are loads of keys on ebay but all have remotes! Nathan
  10. Better to get some wider wheels if your doing it purely for cosmetic reasons... spacers are for inner clearance. Personally I woudlnt let spacers anywhere near my car they are dodgy especially without longer studs. Yes it may work but I know not one but two! people that have had wheels come off at speed due to spacers no thanks.
  11. I have a full set with the original Bridgestone Potenza's on that have only done about 7K miles I wish you had said that the other day I just bought a set off ebay!
  12. I emailed a few suppliers and found one in HK that makes a FRP knockoffs of the legana bumper for under 150 pounds for a single item. Since to ship one would be rather expensive and to ship many probably wouldn't be that much more I thought I would post on here and see if anyone is interested in a group buy. They are unpainted FRP without the lights (can get from toyoxus or hella copies) and there would be some tax ontop. Attached is a photo they sent me sorry non-goldies I can't be bothered posting it on photobucket atm hehe. *edit* whoops I just noticed I've spelt gauging wrong in the title but can't change it nevermind
  13. Hello, I'm looking at putting a set of the standard 17" IS250 wheels on my altezza. What are the wheel widths that they came in? They appear to be staggered judging by the offsets. Nathan
  14. Anyone know if 17x8 +53 offset will work on the IS200?? What is the inner clearance like with the stock wheels? According to wheel offset calculator 17x8+53 vs 17x7+45 its 21mm less clearance on the inside and extend an extra 5mm. http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
  15. Are you doing an engine conversion or just replacing the mounts? The old rear wheel drive celica (xA60/65) mounts may very well be the same or very similar to the altezza mounts. If the angles are the same and the engine and gearbox sit level then it should be ok... worse than can happen is the rubber rips and the engine/gearbox becomes loose. Having said that there are numerous online sites that sell toyota parts. Personally I look at the part numbers up in this website and order from local toyota/lexus dealers. Usually takes a couple of weeks to come from japan. http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_2000_TOYO...AEFVF_1107.html Nathan
  16. Sounds like the gearbox is knackered... can't think of anything else that would cause that. Maybe they dropped it when they took it off? These boxes are not the strongest the 200SX guys are always breaking them (same box). Nathan
  17. I woudln't turbo it without changing the rods and pistons, injectors (maybe fuel pump) and ECU. Yes you can turbo it but with the above mods you can get waaaaay more power reliably and without them it will most likely go bang. There is a guy on the forum with a rod out the block just recently. I've also got an MR2 turbo and even the stock turbo rods and especially the pistons (which are waaay stronger than the altezza) are only good for 300 wheel horse or so. With mods there are plenty of 500+ wheel HP 3SGTE's around. What you could do is buy another engine and put it on a stand and do the upgrades... then when its ready swap it over and sell your old motor for what you paid for the new one etc. That way you can still drive the car when your working on it. Nathan yes i know, i'm all so planing on changeing the injector, fuel pump, and im going with the e manege ultimate cuz i have and A/T, i wont good for the piston and rods mods cuz im there isnt a shop in my country that has done work on a beams 3s-ge engine, be sides the hks people said that turbo kit works with the factory compression Yep it works with the pissweak amount of boost they run... the problem is its not that much more powerful than stock and hardly worth the effort... with lower compression you can turn the boost up and start to make some real safe power like 400hp (flywheel) Also if it runs lean for any reason (overboost or fueling problem) it will destroy the motor. With forged internals it will survive some minor pinging. Anyway in the end it's your car do with it what you like. I've also read somewhere the toms 280T wasn't a stock engine turbo'd it had lower compression so either a decompression plate or different pistons. Makes sense toyota don't usually engineer grenades. Nathan

  19. The import regs in aus are really strict... if a car wasnt sold in aus and is a sports model i.e. 2 doors V8 or Turbo you can bring (called SEVS) it in but its pricey and plenty of red tape... They used to have a 15 year rule where if it was 15yo you could bring anything in but in 1989 there were loads of awesome cars (MR2 turbo, GTR slowline, 300Z etc) so in 2004 the import volume jumped so much they panicked made it a 30 years rule or pre- '89. I got the MR2 in *just* before they changed the rules. Since the IS200 was sold there (and is still worth 2-3x what they are worth in UK) then the altezza isnt eligible for import under SEVS then the only way is to own it for a year overseas. Still have to pay over 20% import duty on it. I don't think it will get like this over here because there is no car industry to protect and seconhand cars don't last as long due to the salt (and neglect) The AE86 I had was sweet... put the supercharged 4A-GZE engine from the AW11 into her was very fast but used to eat diffs and gearboxes :). I read somewhere the IS200/Altezza was designed by the same guy as the '86.
  20. Hello all, I've just purchased a white RS200 manual... planning on taking back to Australia in a year which is incidently the only way to get an altezza into the country :) It will go quite nicely next to my modified JDM SW20 MR2 turbo which I imported just before they changed the regulations! I've owned quite a few nice yotas over the years an AE86 Levin, AW11 MR2 and RA65 Celica... I suppose you could call me a toyota enthusiest! I'm loving the altezza it's very balanced... very much the drivers car.... not loving parking it in London already someone has butcherd the rear bumper on the first day its been parked... sigh. Nathan
  21. Hello, Where the wiring harness connects to the MAF there is a brown 2 pin connector about 10cm down the same cable... on my newly purchased car it is disconnected. Does anyone know what it's used for?? It has an aftermarket air filter. Nathan
