Wiper Blade Replacement

Dunno if this has been covered before, but cannot find it in the forum. Does anyone know if the IS wiper blade (not just the rubber) can be removed and replaced with say something from Halfords? I have tried and they seem to be well fixed to the arm.

I have posted on here about this recently. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=55955 Halfrauds do there own wipers and say they fit, but I have not tried them as I had issues with another car and their own brands. Other brands Halfrauds have, do not fit the IS

Thanks. Actually I had some difficulty removing the whole blade, but the process is easy once you know how. There is a locking catch which needs to be snapped outwards to release the blade. Once removed the arm fitting is pretty universal, allowing most independent makes of blades to be fitted.

anyone know where i can get a decent set of wipers. went to cardiff lexus on thuesday, they gave me a price of £57 for a pair.

Lexus Reading replaced both blades and fitted for free for £15. Cheaper than Halfords and got the right ones fitted too. ;-)

Can you have the rubbers changed on their own without having to have the metal arm/backing replaced also?

Goto your nearest Toyota dealer and they'll supply you with the rubbers, if there graphite coated on the IS (as they are on my Camry) then they come in a long plastic bag with Toyota made in Japan stickers on them for about £4 each.

When I say blades I mean just the rubbers and keeping the original metal frame.

wiperblade.co.uk basic flat blade replacements are brilliant and cheap. They don't list them for the IS250/220 but give them a call.
