Lcd Display Ls400 Vs Sc430

Looking at this some more, I'm guessing you're referring to a 1992 (ish) SC400/Soarer from NA/Japan.

I don't know either car, but if the part that you're looking for is the one shown in each of these two diagrams, then they look different on those to me and have different part numbers. I might be misunderstanding which bit you're after though.

Thanks for that.

I am wondering whether the LCD displays and the info they generate are the same. I understand that the SC400 (my fault typos!), may have had a fan speed display in the middle, and if that is the case, whetther when replacing a blackened LS400 display, whether a SC400 display, or another, possibly, would be a good replacement, nee upgrade, if the extra info. did display. I know, I am thinking very far ahead here, and probably constructing castles in the air, but as my display needs replacement, I am looking at all options, and if this does the trick, brilliant! You don't get if you don't ask - or find out :D

I'm sure I've seen postings about people repairing failed LCD displays on the LS400, I wonder if that would be a better option ? But I'm probably stating the obvious here, you may well have exhausted that possibility already.

I don't know these cars at all, I'm just going by the parts diagrams. But the displays on the LS400 and SC400 look like they've got completely different buttons so I would guess that they're different units (not just cosmetically) and have different wiring too. But I suppose you'd have to try it out to know for sure.

Thanks for that, and indeed there are many LCD replacement postings. I have a friend who will be replacing mine shortly, as replacement of all LCD displays, whatever the marque, is his trade.
