Rx400h - Hill Start

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of buying a used RX400h and have a question - if the new model has a hill start assist function, does this mean the current model rolls back on inclines? Does the engine hold the car still like any other auto?

thanks

I have read in here somewhere there was a few people that complianed that the RX400h did indeed roll back slightly as compared to the previous (Mk1 300) model as the transmissions are completely different, the older model having a conventional auto box (which holds fast on hills) and the later model having a CVT type auto box.

I guess it ultimately depends upon how steep the hill is :shifty:

Best regards David
