Is200 Stereo Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I'm new to here and already have a problem with the IS200 :(

I have the sports navigator model and the standard stereo has stopped playing cd's and ejecting them. I have been told this is a common problem but from what I've been told, it costs about £250-300 to get repaired! Correct me if I'm wrong but I can't put an aftermarket system can I as the sat nav won't work?

Also, would a standard Is200 stereo (from the later models i.e 2000) work even if that doesn't have a sat nav?

Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome along to the club general,

Your right the is200 have a very common cd player fault, yes you can fit aftermarket stereo and still have nav working.

I personally cant help you as my one doesn't have built in nav, but i've read about others doing this, just try a search in this audio section and you'll see them.

But i'm pretty sure Redz will be along shortly, he'll put you on the right track bud.

How to keep the Nav working, just did this myself at weekend and definately works. Basically a series of diodes and resistors on a PCD board that tricks the nav into thinking the standard headunit is still there by creating the correct resistance.

You will also need an "amp bypass cable" off eBay.
