Jap Sat Nav

My car has the built in Japanese sat-nav which obviously is no use to me, it also has a "TV" button , i presume this worked fine in Japan but over here it only picks up snowy channels (and the odd sound)

Is there a way i can get this to pick up channels over here?

There seems to be a place that can do this but im wondering is there any DIY route i can take

I wouldn't bother with the conversion as we are going digital very soon and the analogue TV system in your car will be of no use at all.

If I remember correctly Japan uses the USA TV system NTSC which is incompatable to the UK system PAL not only that but the sound system is also different.

THe FM radio band in Japan is also different normally resulting in only being able to get radio 2 in the UK.

Personally I would fit an aftermarket system as it would be cheaper.

My radio is fine as i fitted a band expander thingymabob, i was hoping the Tv issue would be the same, i fancy a double din headunit with built in digital Tv and the likes but there costly
