Is200 Auto Idling

Hi all

Recently iv noticed my car will begin to idle at around 1500-2000 rpms and i was wondering what could be causing this as i dont seem to get very good mpg either even by lexus standards so is this linked and if so what could it be?

Is it idling that high on startup or even when the engine is warm? It still sounds a bit high though.....

seems at the minute to be on start up .Its only done it the once when it was warm.Ithought it might of been just where it was cold but it did seem a bit high compared to other cars iv had.

If it's of any use, I think mine idles at about 1200 when cold, and drops to about 800 when warm - no idea what could be causing the difference though.

MPG wise it's pretty poor, I generally get between 20 and 25mpg depending on what sort of driving I've been doing.

think il give it a general check over spark plugs etc see if that makes a difference im lucky to see 20 at the minute all i seem to get is about 15 mpg and thats not even heavy right foot :(

that idles high mate. there a lot of things that could cause that
