Sc430 Console Light

Hi guys,

got back this afternoon to find the Battery dead, got the rac out the got it started and we took the car for a blast to recharge the bat.

however ive now noticed that the center console where the mpg/temp control is, is constantly on, it does dim from full brightness however it is still on all the time.

Ive checked the switches and non of them work when off so its not getting full power however its probably enough to be killing the Battery.

Any suggestions where I can start looking?

after pulling a few fuses it seems to go off with radio 1 but radio 2 has no effect. Ive pulled that fuse for the moment to stop Battery drain and will be calling lexus on monday but any further help will be usefull

Update on problem Lexus Poole, who by the way have been brilliant throughout all this, have located the fault.

The computer that controls the gear leaver system was faulty and not registering the fact it was in park. Apparently it doesnt fully disengage the electrics until the car is in park and the key is pulled, as we all know you cant take the key out unless its in park so its a 2 tier system, this was leaving all the electrics on even after the key was pulled.

Its all covered by the warranty which is great and the parts should be here friday, as said poole have been great with all this so its just a case of waiting. Only problem is mine was booked in for its 50K service and they have had to put that off till the following week
