Mk1 Celsior Running Problems

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Ive had my MK1 JDM Celsior for a few months now, and I need some help on a few running issues I have. When I brought the car it was misfiring/overfueling and not running on all 8 cylinders. I had it booked into a garage where I was told the throttle body was faulty and that the air flow sensor needed replacing. I had the air flow sensor replaced which seemed to rectify the misfiring and overfueling problem, but then it had bad idle surge!

Recently it won't start soon as I start it, it cuts out, seems like it isn't firing properly on start up, the only way it stays started is if I rev it a good few times, or if I wack it into drive and start to drive. After a few miles it finds idle and won't cut out, the misfiring is back, but don't seem to overfuel, as before there was a very bad petrol smell which isn't there now.

Was wondering what things you guys would recommend I replace/work on to rectify all the issues....TIA your help is much appreciated.

Also do the MK3 (1996) ECU's fit the MK1?

Thanks
