Is The Rear Lambda Sensor Needed?

hi all well after all my trying to get my new exhaust fitted which came with no lambda sensor hole in it i was going to weld a lug on the new pipe but i can not get the sensor out the old exhaust and i contacted the shop i got the cat back system from they said that the reason they dont put a hole in is because the rear sensor is not needed so i fort i would ask on here if it is needed? any help is good thanks again.

yes it is needed it monitors the exhaust gasses that go through the cat.....if you remove it your engine warning light will show.......

thanks for the quick reply makes you wonder why they are telling me that there is no need for it i dont spose you know the thread size and pitch i think its m18x1.5mm any ideas as i cant get the sensor out the have you got any ideas on how to get it out thanks for any help ormi

don't know the size but could poss find out tomorrow....run the car for 15 mins get a 21mm 22mm spanner and it should come out with a bit of force.....
