Shake, Ratle And Roll

Today when driving at around 50-60mph the steering wheel was wobbling from left to right at a ridiculous rate. This has never happened before. Do I need to get the wheels rebalanced/tracked or does is indicate something more sinister....

there are quite a few potholes on the road i take to and from work so chances are I have hit one of them. cheers for the reply, will get it looked at tomorrow.

Problem solved, Apparently I have a ruined caliper. Its sticking on the near side. which has therefore caused the disc to warp.

New caliper ordered along with mintex discs and pads. Hopefully that sorts the problems out, otherwise i shall be annoying everyone again.

where did you order the caliper from and how much if you dont mind me asking mate. I need one

I'm afraid i just got my garage to order it, but its gonna cost me £110. I have seen them on eBay but i couldn't vouch for the quality of them.

crikey thats cheap for a caliper and a pair of mintex discs and pads ! does that include fitting ?

If your going to fit them yourself, get an eazibleed kit from halfauds. Their the ultimate tool for bleeding brakes!!! lol

sorry that was £110 for the caliper including fitting. I should be more clear.

Got the pads and front discs off eBay for £89 i think it was. Was toying with the idea of fitting them myself but I dont trust myself to fix something as vital as the brakes. don't fancy them failing at 80mph on the motorway cause i didnt tighten something correctly.

me too, It was an absolute bitch to drive once the steering wheel started shaking.

ok thanks anyway mate. Brakes arent hard to change mate, Mine have been on and off god knows how many times to allow access to various different bits
