Satnav Screen Closing....or Not...

Recommended Posts

Folks, looking for some advice - i've done a search but can't seem to find this problem...

I have an IS300 S/C - 03 plate...great car. Has factory fitted Lexus satnav that works a treat...apart from following a Battery change...the screen now no longer fully closes when switching off the ignition. It partially closes but stops about an inch short of flush closure...seems odd and only occurred following taking the car Battery out and replacing with a new unit.

Any thoughts about how to address - it's almost like the unit needs 'resetting' to understand where the close point of the screen is...but that's me guessing.

Welcome any advice and thanks in advance...

Rich

Hello,

Changed my Battery about six mths ago and did not have any problems with my sat nav.what happens if you use the open and close switch?does it close properly?you might have to close it manually then and hopefully this will reset it.Had a lexus is 200 sat nav that i sold recently and you could open and close it without manually without it being connected,so would give it a try - that is shutting it manually, hope this helps.

Hi mate - thanks for posting....

The satnav closes fine with ignition on (pressing the open close button)...it's when the unit is open and you switch the ignition off that it doesn't close fully. I can push it closed no problem....It's almost as though with the new Battery, once the ignition is turned off there isn't enough power supply getting to the unit to allow time for it to fully close...which is odd !!!

Hi,well i have always closed mine with the open/close switch(as that is what it is there for)rather than ignition.
