Low Water Level

Hi everyone new to the forum.

I have a gs 430 ( 04 ) the problem is whenever I top up my expansion bottle to the top line after a drive it

always goes down to just under the bottom line, the temperature guage always shows just over half way. I am wondering if this is normal.Any ideas.

not added water to mine in 2.5 years of ownership. my '96 gs300 sport was same....had it 6 yrs without adding water

My 300 Sportcross had waterpump leak causing the header tank and radiator to empty but still never showed engine temp over normal !it used to take almost a gallon to top it up, the only way I knew was the heater got cooler.
