i've been offered a very cheap eaton m62 supercharger by a friend. my question is, is it alot of work to fit a supercharger into the 2jz engine??? what parts will i need other than the charger itself???

Sorry, previous input wrong. Not sure why you would as the twin turbo or single conversion would be a lot easier. Supercharger needs special inlet manifold, re-routed belt, ECU / fuelling upgrades

i understand turbo's but never played with a supercharger. i'd love a single turbo conversion though.

I guess you know the 2JZ is in the Supra, plenty of tuning mods avalable. Check out Aristo imports too (Vertex). If you're not used to this kind of thing, easier to by a Vertex already done.

oh i know it's in the supra. i am unsure what changes were done to the engine when fitted to the lex though. maybe at some point in the future a single turbo conversion will be on the cards. i do like the whine of a supercharger though.

in the US there are supercharger kist available for the 2jz, they are aimed specifically for the IS300 but can be fitted to the GS300 with slight modification.

it is possible to fit, your problem will be mounting the eaton blower, the obvious place is over the exhaust manifolds.

the process will seem complicated, but i know a few people who have fitted superchargers to some pretty strange things.....

how good are your fabrication skills

i have a friend who is a self employed fabricator. he's built a few dragsters and kit cars, actually he's currentley working on a mustang fastback with a supercharged big block v8. he says he can help me with the fabrication and the fitment etc.

ideally i need a list of parts for a basic setup minus the 'charger itself. once i've got the kit it's pretty much plain sailing.

this has been put on hold for now. considering a turbo setup at some point.
