Had My First Mot Today

I've had the car just over 12 months now and it had 12 months MOT on from time of purchase, albeit with the wrong reg number from the garage which I had altered no problem

I was worried it would fail as due to the age and mileage of the car, I thought maybe ball joints would have a little excess play, since my IS200 failed on the same when it had similar mileage, also since I had a minor bump in OCT, the seals in the headlamps gradually deteriorated and after the bad winter condensation started to form in the drivers side lens, since finding out that if the moisture doesn't affect the beam pattern then it may not fail the test,

I set about drying it out, by this time (last week) the passenger side one might as well have had a bucket of water funneled in over night as the sidelight bulb and headlight stopped working, so I whipped that off aswell, and had a look at the video on Youtube about opening up the lamps and sealing them up again (halo/angel eye install vid)

Oven packed up, so I couldn't even heat them at home :( I went to my brothers house and heated one up, I did the drivers side although I should have done the passenger one first as it was far worse, but i've never been much of a thinker...

Heated the oven to 120 c and stuck it in for 20 mins, by then the cheese was golden brown and bubbling slightly, so I took out my food and stuck the headlight in, for a further 20 mins, and took it out, and started to pull away at the lens, I didn't have any gloves so found it hard to keep hold of the thing whilst it was hot but the lens started to come away and I set about carefully, the parts where it clips in, with a screwdriver, but the last 2 clips wouldn't budge so I got as much fluid out as possible and squeezed the unit back together, and used silicone seal around the edge as best I could, I didn't even attempt the second lamp as i'd lost patience, so I attached some absorbant material to a cooking skewer and stuck it in through one of the bulb holes and mopped out as much fluid as I could, and went around the edge with silicone again just for good measure, I knew this wouldn't be a great success so my aim was just to get them as dry as possible for the MOT, which I did

MOT Failed,

on what??.......

i'd forgotten to put the bl00dy sidelight bulbs back in :( other than that, no advisories whatsoever, i'm a happy little idiot to say the least
