Power Steering Fluid

Recommended Posts

Hi guys i was told that the power steering fluid that i need is" Automatic Transmission Fluid Dextron II " or " III "

is this correct ?

was also told that the easy way to do it is to extract the old fluid with a " Turkey baster " and refill with new fluid

repeating this 3 or 4 times over a period of a week to ensure all old fluid has been replaced ( does this method work ) ?

many thanks H13BBO ...

I would unclip the return pipe and place it in a large container the start the car and with another person get some1 to turn the wheel lock to lock a few time and continuously fill the reservoir as it empties. once you see clean fluid coming out of the return pipe switch the car off and replace the pipe. place a lot of rags below the reservoir just incase of a mishap.

Not sure on the fluid.
