Advice On Fitting A After Market Double Din Dvd Player

Recommended Posts

hi all

new member here and proud new owner of a IS200 2002

i'm looking at fitting a double din dvd player. having had a look at some previous posts/threads i would just like some advice on the connection of the pre-existing amp. it seems as though most people prefer to bypass the amp. is this the best option since i'm not really looking at fitting any further equipment (amps, woofers etc).

and also, is it a relatively simple job to do?

many thanks

The IS200 stereo doesn't match the ISO standard used in most aftermarket setups; hence the need to bypass the existing amp.

It's not too difficult to do (even I managed it without resorting to help), and my setup sounds fine without any additional amps/subs etc

The bypassing is simple - attempting to keep the existing amp and connect it to an aftermarket unit - very much wouldn't be.

thanks for your reply dave

i've read that you can get the connector which plugs straight to the plug which comes out of the amp. so i'll be looking at getting one of them and hopefully plug into the dvd unit and job done. well, knowing my luck, probably not going to be as simple as that but here's hoping :)
