Is200 Starting Problem

Loose Clip

Hi

I have a friend with a 2003 IS200 which will not start.

The long story begins when the car overheated really badly and as a result, it melted the cylinder head and even the wiring loom.

The car has a manual gearbox and a replacement engine was sourced from a 2006 car with a Auto gearbox. The flywheel was changed but now when you crank the engine over, it will start and run for 3 or 4 seconds then cut out. It will do this everytime.

When the engine cuts the injectors lose their pulse from the engine ecu although they still have the 12v feed and the coiuls still spark. The injectors do pulse when the engine cranks but stop when the engine starts.

The engine ecu has been changed along with the key and barrel housing. The immobilise light goes out when ignition is switched on.

The crankshaft sensor, vvt actuator. coolant temp sensor, throttle housing, air temp sensor, alarm controller have all been changes with no change. ( he has a spare car to swap these parts from, he isnt buying them)

Does anyone have an idea of what may be wrong with the car ?

He has had a scan done on the car using Carman scan and fault codes show " conditions for ETCs not correct" and also " ignitor circuit"

Is there another controller for the fuel injectors or are they run from the engine ecu ?

Many thanks for looking and hpefullly helping.

Thanks

Paul
