Transmission E-Shift Swap

Can i swap the e-shift auto box for a 6speed manual. In my is300. If so will I need to do the hole transmission, and how much work is involved. Would I be able to use a donour car for parts.

Hi Danny and welcome to the LOC.

It's possible but i would be a lot of work,you'd need all the clutch parts and the resevior and the centre gear consul.

What's up with the present auto box ?? it would be cheaper to buy a recon auto box and just replace that.

Nothing wrong with it apart from its an auto not what I wanted but couldnt find a saloon 300 with manuel transmission.

I don't think Lexus made an is300 manual i might be wrong !! i'd stick with the auto, i love auto's as i'm a right lazy sod but then i like manuals too so i know where your coming from.

A nice 3.0 with a manual, traction control off ........nice.

That's wat I mean. Sideways action. Don't happen to good with auto. But saved my life as just pulled tendons in ankle falling of down hill M-bike lol so need the auto now. Still like u say would of been nice with manuel box. Respect for reply.

There have been manual conversions on the LS400 i think they used a Supra gearbox.

Anything is possible if you have the time,money and incentive!

Was thinken along same lines as its the same engine as supra. Also same as older gs 300's. As this was my 1st car. But did the they' put manuel box in the Gs300's with that engine. Or is that out of the question.
