It will certainly increase noise levels but by how much I'm not sure. Have a browse on Youtube for "Lexus LS400 Exhaust" which may give you an idea of what to expect, another question is will it still be road legal and pass an MOT with sections removed and bypassed?

hmmm fair point, i will keep rear boxes etc anyway for mot just incase, i figure it wont have any effect on running as gasses already slowed down by first silencers etc anyway, just think it should give a lil more parp ,, which is always nice,,:)

Jimmythehat? Is that a name of a character in a book?

Ignore me it was Jimmy the hand i was thinking of.

Any way i too have often toyed with the idea of removing the rear boxes in the hope of a v8 burble but not had the bottle yet.

Removing the two rear resonator boxes makes hardly any difference to the exhaust volume at all. Some MOT testers may fail you for 'incomplete exhaust' but this is being overly picky and strictly speaking it should warrant a fail [An incomplete exhaust is one where sections are missing in the middle. If it has a beginning and an end, and everything inbetween is sound and secure, it can't be 'missing'].

Here's mine with the rear resonators removed, before I extended the pipes out to finish in quads.
