Battery For Key-Fob How To?

Hi help please

What type of Battery do you need for the key as mine has given up on my 3 button master key and I am using my spare key?

Can the Battery be purchased in Halfords and how easy is it to open the key, looks like one screw?

Yes just the small screw to get inside and take remote bit out then 2 more similar on that to uncover the Battery.

The batteries in mine are CR1616 and I got some from eBay trader beakytrading. Check item no. 260294304062

The originals in mine from new were Panasonic too so I was even double sure they were the right ones

In the meantime could just swap them between keys.

Probably best to confirm that's what you have first as I think I remember a topic about some being different.

4 x LEXUS CR1616 KEY FOB BATTERIES were £3.20, arrived 4 days later :)

Note to others: do not remove any Battery from key fob for a long time, as you may have to reset your key again!

Glad you got hold of the batteries OK - the hardest thing I found when I did mine was to find a screwdriver small enough for the job. I had to use my dad's spec screwdriver set to get into the key casing in the end as even my smallest screwdriver head was too large. Was a 5min job in the end and cost next to nothing...I just wish all my other car related jobs were as easy!

Hi guys, thanks for posting this up. Finding out how to replace the Battery in my IS220d was the main reason I joined this site. But I can't stop reading posts. I think I'm here to stay!
