HI Folks having a custom fit Stainless steel Exhaust fitted this weekend on my IS200 they are on about removing the secondary Cat. I thought the IS only had 1 cat. and will the removal cause problems.

it has small pre-cats and one normal main one. Removing the main cat will make you fail an MOT and you will also need an oxygen sensor simulator to replace the downstream O2 sensor otherwise the CEL will come on.

If you just remove the pre-cats then you can pass an MOT provided the system is nice and warm and the main cat is in good condition.

True - but removing the precats will scarcely make any performance difference anyway, so maybe best to leave them.

Cheers for the advice guys only changing it cos my exhaust is not in the best of shapes know. not really looking for any performance gains just whant a nice looking system on the car. I have told them I don't whant it loud either as will spoil the car in my opinion.
