Lpg Certificates

I thought I'd start a new thread on this subject, rather than taking the other thread off topic, as it's quite an important question for those of us running on lpg, or considering doing so in the future, and will be easier found by a search.

My understanding is that a certificate is no longer required, but that an insurance company can/will check the UKLPG vehicle register to verify the installation was done by a qualified person.

This is what is quoted on my registration receipt from Mintlpg, Newport, who recently converted my LS400.

My insurance company did not want to see any certificate, but said they would be checking the register, which seemed to confirm what Mintlpg had told me.

However, there were different opinions expressed on the other thread, which cast doubt on the above, so can anybody shed any more light on this subject please?

I was told the same and my insurance company didn't want a certificate.

Thanks Ray, glad it's not just me.

Looking at the lpg forum seems to suggest the certificate is no longer required, but I'd be interested to hear from somebody in the insurance business, after all, it's them who ultimately decide what's required.
