Music Options With Ml Stereo

Should be picking up my 07 GS this week and want to know my music options for the ML stereo (I want to take some music when I pick up for the journey home).

Obv it has CDs, tape(!) and radio, but does it play mp3s CD/DVD? Is there a USB plug? or audio in to plug in an iPod? I don't think it has the optional iPod connection kit (£200 option is ott!)

1) ML plays mp3 CDs

2) In P with foot brake on, DVD can be watched

3) Best iPod unit is the Vaistech ML+ for the Gen 5 Nav displays (round touchscreen buttons), but it's $499 + shipping, and VAT/duty.

If you're not interested in watching videos, then the SL3i at $199 + the rest is the best audio-only option.

I assume there's no 3.5mm Audio in jack anywhere?

Can I fill up a DVD with mp3s or does it have to be a CD?

Not sure - think it's only set up for mp3 CDs. Check your owners manual.

Input didn't arrive until the facelift '08s - but again, check manual and armrest section.

I would argue the cost of the iPod adapter is worth the expenditure, to save faffing about with making CDs.

My concern is that with recordable CDs reflective layer not being silver, they put added stress on the laser, so could be a false economy further down the line.
