Ive just bought a universal one because i cant justify paying so much for such a simple thing!

I didnt really want to mention it on the LOC yet in case it goes tits up and looks rubbish! but will do a thread on it once arrived and show ppl how it goes. bought a similar priced one for my last car (different design) and it was of good quality and worked great. As i dont want to screw it to the centre tunnel and do any damage to the interior, I am planning on unbolting the storage lid and fixing this one too it either with metal plates or a thin sheet of wood using the same screws. Im quite good at making things. If that doesnt work good I may try and purchase another storage lid from a breaker and literally bolt it to it. If it goes well it will serve really useful also because my IS doesnt have front cup holders because ive got the NAV and it comes with two.

I can say, that the OEM armrest is worth the extra money. Super stabile and tough and nice quality leather.

I'm with you on this one Petay. I'm sure the OEM one is better but I can't pay over a ton for it! Very interested to see your follow up. I'll hold off buying it until we get your verdict :)

The only thing the stock one lacks is height adjustment. I could do with it being about a centimetre higher. The Golf armrests have a multi position "click" setting, and it could do with that. I've learned to live with it at it's standard height, but at first I really wanted it just that little bit higher. I did think about putting some spacers on the bottom bolts to raise it, but then the cubby hole would sit proud so decided against it. Get past that though, it's perfect
